For hver bombe som slippes, kan vi bygge en skole.

Det er tragisk å tenke på at dette er et fakta.

Skolebygget reiser seg i Nairobi.

Det er som en drøm som går i oppfyllelse, og jeg har vanskelig for å styre mine følelser når jeg ser hvordan skolebygget for våre 150 barn i slummen av Nairobi, reiser seg. Et stort arbeide er gjort for å legge et solid fundament under bygget, så er det støpt et sterkt betongdekke over hele bygget. Deretter begynte de på ytre og indre vegger. Så langt har vi komt opp i 4 rader med hogd naturstein, og vi skal videre opp med 6 nye rader før det støpes dragere og dekket over kan støpes.
Nå trenger vi midler til å fullføre 1. etasje. Konkret trenger vi kr 15.000,- til å kjøpe stein og bygge resten opp til dragerne skal støpes. Nå ber vi frimodig alle positive krefter om hjelp. Når bygget er ferdig, vil det ha 3 etasjer, og gi rom til alle våre barn. Når de er ferdig med sin skolegang, gis det rom for nye barn, - og slik blir det en skole som vil gi tusener av barn fremtid og håp.

Rapport fra Manna Ministries, Kenya.

We at Manna Ministries Kenya we are so thankful to the Lord for Good News Ministiries and Tonstad Church Norway for sending Dr. Oeystein and Edith Sandtorv together with Sister Signy and her Daughter Silje to our Ministry here in Kenya. We had a very wonderful time together as we serve God here in various activities .

These were the great services we enjoyed with the servants of God from Norway


1. Feeding programme:

Our friends bought foodstuff for the children of Glorious Junior Centre and help in serving the food practically as they share there Love with the children especially the children of Glorious Junior Center. Now the food that sister Signy helped purchase will take the children about another month. They also got the chance to visit the new land that the Tonstad Church purchased earlier for GJC for possible school building since renting the current school premises has proved to be a very big hurdle for the teachers and children of GJC to meet each month .



Stationery supply:

Besides food that was distributed our friends /partners from Norway also extended to donate books, pencils and Sharpeners to the more than 150 pupils of GJC. We then met the architect who had made a sketchy plan of the proposed Glorious Junior Center building and we discussed approximated costs that will be involved in the first floor of the same building that will enable the school to be moved.


2. Leaders Conference

Thanks to Dr. Oeystein, the word that you gave has left a mark in the lives of hundreds of church leaders amongst them Bishops and pastors here in Kenya and so far within just a short time many requests has reached our office from many church leaders humbly and desperately requesting you to come each year to continue equipping the saints in Kenya for their effective service for the Lord.Your teachings especially on the GIFTS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT and NATURE OF GOD was spirit filled , powerful and life changing for many many church leaders here . This is a subject that has a lot of controversy here and which many denominations have problems in and through your teachings it was like an eye opener and the leaders was able to see the clear TRUTH of God regards this subject. They want more and more and only that can happen if the Lord releases you to come back to us again and again and also if you are able to assist us to access your manuals especially for those who were not in the meeting.



3. Certificates.

The certificates and Manuals you gave out for free with certificates is still being felt even after you had left thank you Dr. Oyestine for the Holy Spirit conference you had here with our Church Leaders.

Now the leaders will use the manuals you gave out to teach their congregations starting with their church leaders. Thank you again for the manuals.



4. Land.

To the tonstard Church we still lack words to say THANK YOU , for the young Girl whom God used to initiated the project at helping GJC children. Sister Silje from our hearts every one is uttering Blessings to you and the families at Philadephia Tonstad Church in Norway for the generous support you show to us. Now GJC has a land ready for a building for the school.



5. Orphans and widows

In Manna centre every one said thank you the orphans and Widows are singing good songs for you. They say thank you for the clothes you sent to them , special thanks to all those who contributed to them to have new clothes to them it was new clothes.



Manna ministries Kenya and the entire staff we receive you as part of our family ,thank you for choosing us and our ministry to work with us . We are praying that God has just begun to do the good things.

Hjem fra vellykket tur til Kenya.

Så var vi hjemme igjen fra Kenya. Bak oss ligger 9 fantastiske dager i Kenya. Å beskrive Kenya er umulig, det må bare oppleveS, praktfulle bygninger og en overdådig velstand for noen, og bølgeblikk-skur og knapt et måltid for dagen for store masser, - ikke minst i de store slum-distriktene.
Målet, - eller rettere, målene for vår tur var å besøke skolen "vår", "Glorious Junior Centre" i ett av slumdistriktene. Vi har støttet denne skolen i 4 år med undervisningsmateriell og midler slik at barna får ett varmt måltid for dagen. Skolen holder til i noen bølgeblikk-skur, og her får ca. 150 barn fra slummen undervisning og mat hver dag. Dette gir dem en mulighet til å komme ut av elendigheten de er fanget av i slummen. VÅRT MÅL ER ALLTID Å GI BARN FREMTID OG HÅP.
Nå planlegger vi å bygge ny skole for dem. Tomta er kjøpt inn, og en arkitekt er allerede i gang med å lage tegninger for en 3 etasjers bygning. Vårt mål er å bygge etasje for etasje etter som midlene kommer inn. Et stort arbeide ligger foran oss, og vi må som disiplene da de fikk den strore fiskefangsten, rope på andre for å hjelpe oss. Vårt første mål er at 1. etasje, som vil koste mest pga. grunnarbeidet og fundamentet, vil stå ferdig ett år fra nå, - og så vil vi ta fase 2 når midlene er på plass. Be med oss at midler vi komme inn og byggingen kan starte, - DET HASTER. BARNA KAN IKKE LENGER FORTSETTE I DE SKURENE DE SAMLES I I DAG.

Til Kenya i sommer.

Den 31 juli planlegger vi å reise til Kenya i 12 dager. Målet for turen er å planlegge byggingen av en skole for ca. 100 barn i en av Nairobis slum-områder. Vi har allerede kjøpt tomten for US$ 10.000,-. Nå skal planene utarbeides for hvordan vi kan bygge skolen for å gi disse barna fremtid og håp.
I tillegg til dette skal vi ha et stort seminar for pastorer og evangelister i Nairobi.
Men vi har et dilemma. Vi trenger enda noen tusen-lapper for å klare å kjøpe bilettene. Kan du gi oss en hjelpende hånd?

I just received this dramatic report from our contact in Kenya.

Dearest Oeystein and Edith

Thank you for prayers for my family. We feel that the devil is attacking our family this month when my dad started to feel sick with Malaria and i took him to hospital where he spent almost two weeks followed by myself sick of Malaria and later Benter has been feeling stomach pain and dehydrating and feeling headache and when she went to the hospital for a test she was told that she is not having malaria and that she must have used untreated waters and so is suffering from constipation etc which to us is not a reality. Right now Benter is not having appetite for food and she is weak and looks depressed.

Then I went to Kisumu to see the children at Manna Academy and arrange for food supply for the school because we had to agree with someone to supply them and be paid when we have got the money. Rodgers acommpanied me to Kisumu and on Thursday we were there with my parents. On Friday night at around 9 pm a group of 4 men jumped into out home and raided right into our dads house and one of them with a gun came to my house and ordered us all into my dads house and then commanded that everyone must lie down or else they shoot us dead, the had Machine guns AK 47 and a pistol and the other one remained outside the home with another big gun. They started to search our pockets and took all our personal belongings like phones, wallets , money that we had in our pockets and bag of clothes, and my shoes and all clothes of Rodgers that he took with him to the rural.

They also took my laptop and the broadband which i carried with me. They said that they must kill me because I am preaching the gospel and that we are thinking that we are maing people give their lives to Jesus and that they have been sent and paid money to make sure they kill me before all the members of the gang got saved. They are worried that people who are bad are giving their lives to Jesus and the one who sent them is their leader and thinks that I am making his team members to walk from him to Jesus Christ through the gospel meetings , gospel tracts and other gospel activities to we do in that village,

They locked everyone including my dad and mom in the house and said to them to say byee to me because they were going to kill me and they even showed my mum if she want to find my body where they will find it the next day. I walked out with them and in my heart i kept praying and praising God that its good to know that what we are doing is causing trouble in the Kingdom of darkness. I asked my mum to stay calm even though she kept screeming and calling on Gods Name. Then they threw me into their vehicle but then on trying to ignite the car the car did not start even after they had tried much, then they threw me out and the car started and they said to me that they will be back and ran away without hurting me. I want to believe that God sent His angels of war with many guns that these men saw and ran away without hurting me.

My life is kept in the Lord and that is the safest place that it should be. I dont regret being in the Lord and having Him as my shield and hope.

Everyday i pray Psalms 91 over my life and read Ephesians 6 :10,11 ,12 and pray

I am now trusting God again for another laptop that I can use for communication for ministry and I am also requesting you to resend me your cell phones that i can save again after losing my phone also to them together with contacts.

I am going to pray now and apply Proverbs 6:31 to claim back what the devil has stolen from me. Please join me to pray that God will prove His word in my situation.

Mors 95-års dag.

17. februar ble mor 95 år, og lørdag 19. samlet hele familien seg rundt henne og feiret dagen i de flotte lokalene på Bjorøy grendehus og skole. Ca. 40 barn, barnebarn og oldebarn var samlet. I tillegg hadde hun invitert flere av sine svigerinner. To av dem over 95 år. Tydelig at det er noen sterke gener i familien.
Det ble en flott dag, og det er en Guds gave til oss å ha en mor som har en slik høy alder, - og samtidig er frisk og før på alle områder. Hun bor i vårt barndomshjem på Bjorøy vest for Bergen, går turer hver dag og lever et sunt liv både timelig og åndelig. Hun ville ikke ha noen gaver, men utfordret oss alle til å gi en gave til Leger uten grenser. Vi gratulerer henne så mye med dagen og dager som kommer.
